While searching through the attic of the G. D. Campbell General Store in Weymouth, (my Great Grandfather), we came across this leather bound book and were intrigued by the old writing and records found within.
This book has been passed down for 7 generations in the Campbell Family of Weymouth North, Nova Scotia and is now on loan, to the Shelburne Museum. It is very well preserved and the contents have been copied when it was placed in the museum.
In my Gt-Grandfather’s Diary of 1911 I found this entry. Not only does it mention the origins of the book but, he addressed the entry to his Gt-Grandchildren. (It gave me quite a start when I first saw it:
